We offer £2,000 welcome bonus. Are you an experienced senior leader in children’s residential care ready to make a real impact across multiple services? We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Operations Director/Nominated Individual to oversee the operational leadership and development of a portfolio of EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) children’s homes and be our based in Norfolk. This is a key leadership role for a seasoned professional with the drive, vision, and compassion to deliver safe, nurturing, and high-quality care that transforms young lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing strong, consistent leadership and supervision to Supported Accommodation Registered Manager and Children’s Homes Registered Managers.
  • Overseeing compliance, safeguarding, service quality, and performance across all homes.
  • Leading Ofsted preparation, inspections, and responses, ensuring outcomes of ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’.
  • Developing and embedding quality assurance systems and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Collaborating with Local Authorities, safeguarding partners, and external stakeholders to ensure best outcomes.
  • Ensuring children’s welfare and development are prioritised in every aspect of service delivery.
  • Monitoring operational performance through visits, audits, and hands-on leadership.

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years of senior leadership experience in children’s residential care.
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks, Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and safeguarding legislation.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience supporting and developing Registered Managers.
  • Demonstrated success in leading multiple homes or services.
  • Excellent communication, people leadership, and organisational skills.

Desirable:

  • Registered Individual (RI) experience with Ofsted.
  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic or trauma-informed care approaches.
